CAMP at COS is our summer camp program offered every year in July. We offer sessions for elementary and middle school aged children, ages 6-13. Each session is a week long, offered in either a morning block (9am to Noon) or afternoon block (1pm to 4pm). In 2022 CAMP at COS will now offer two different types of session. Please see our explanation of the different sessions below.
CAMPers in our Build Your Own sessions work together to create an original 10 to 15 minute play to perform at the end of the week. Children start with creating their own unique characters while learning about the Actor’s Tool Box. As they work as designers, costumers, and co-directors, they build the world in which their character co-exist on stage, and learn to create a dynamic story arch to entertain the audience. These session are designed for elementary aged children.
CAMPers in our Pre-selected Works sessions start with a well-known fairy tale or two, and turn it into an original adaptation. Children and Teens dive deeper into character development and story telling as they learn how actors turn familiar characters into new and dynamic portrayals. They also craft and create a unique world on stage as they reimagine familiar stories in ways that the audience has never seen. These sessions are designed for elementary and middle school aged children.
Snacks and drinks will be provided for all CAMPers, as well as supplies for staging their original production. All CAMP sessions end with a final performance and cast party during the last hour of CAMP on Friday. Each session costs $225 per CAMPer.
We would love to see you at CAMP! Registration will open in January 2022.
