All auditions are open to the public, and anyone interested in auditioning is encouraged to attend. Except for the special cases of musical productions, all auditions are cold readings of selections chosen by the directors and taken directly from the scripts. Head shots and resumes are encouraged. In the case of auditions for a musical, an appointment may have to be made to audition with prepared musical numbers.
For productions that have children as cast members, a separate audition is usually held.

Company OnStage is seeking talented and dedicated individuals for the following positions for their upcoming 2010-2011 season:
STAGE MANAGERS (stipend position)
Works with the Director, Technical Director, Artistic Director and production staff in coordinating all aspects of the production, from auditions through rehearsals and tech; supervises the production from opening night through all performances to strike.
Reports to: Technical director / Artistic Director / Director
Commitment: For Evening productions, rehearsals are Monday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings with performances on Friday and Saturday Evenings. Children’s productions rehearse Tuesday evenings and perform Saturdays at 11:00 am and 1:30 pm. Attendance at all rehearsals (8 week period) and productions (6 week period) is required.
Experience: Some experience preferred. Will train per production. (Student stage managers welcome.)
LIGHT BOARD/ SOUND BOARD OPERATOR (stipend position)
Controls stage lighting and sound during a performance. Also conducts dimmer checks, maintenance on instruments, basic troubleshooting.
Reports to: Lighting Designer / Director / Technical Director
Commitment: Attend all rehearsals for two weeks prior to opening and then attend all shows for 6-week period. (Evening productions rehearse Monday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings with performances on Friday and Saturday Evenings. Children’s productions rehearse Tuesday evenings and perform Saturdays at 11:00 am. and 1:30 pm.
Qualifications: Must be able to climb ladders
Experience: Some experience preferred. Will train for production.
SET DESIGNER
Works with the director, technical director and artistic director in scenic design of the show and is responsible for its build: supervises crew in the construction and maintenance of sets.
Reports to: Artistic Director / Technical Director / Director
Equipment and Facilities: Well-equipped scene shop with large inventory of set pieces, furniture.
Experience: Previous design experience preferred. (Student designers welcome.)
COSTUME DESIGNER
Works with the director to design the costume plot and responsible for its build: supervises crew in the construction and maintenance of costumes and accessories.
Reports to: Director
Time Commitment: Varies
Mid-sized costume inventory
Experience: Required. Must be able to work on a tight deadline with a tight budget, good communication skills and planning skills are an asset in this position. Sewing experience is a plus. (Student designers welcome.)
SET CONSTRUCTION CREW
Help build the set. You assist the designer in working with hand- and power-tools to construct set pieces and platforms, paint, and more.
Reports to: Technical Director / Set designer / Resident Carpenter
Commitment: Varies, with hours arranged according to the resident carpenter and/or set designer, weekday evenings and weekends for 2-3 weeks before opening.
Experience: Some experience preferred.

COS utilizes volunteers for ushering, manning the box office, stage management, set design and construction, lighting and sound, and music. We often need pianists for children's productions, adult musicals and auditions for musicals.
Remember, each and every individual is what makes this theater run and is an intregal part of its operation. Even one person can make a difference.
